The Shop

Since 1878, a Padaria Ribeiro has provided visitors with the typical taste of past recipes. A Padaria Ribeiro is committed to providing safe and high quality products in order to satisfy customers’ requirements and to remain a reference in the Pastry and Bakery market.

Shop History

The history of Padaria Ribeiro was born in 1878, in the old Praça do Pão, in the city of Oporto, by Teresa Ribeiro Lima and her husband. At the end of the twentieth century, Teresa Ribeiro Lima trespasses the establishment to its accountant, Gastão Adriano Mineiro, who later transmits the business to her son. It is between the 1920s and the 1950s that Ribaria Bakery achieves the excellent reputation it maintains until today. In 1987 the current owners acquire this establishment and Bakery Ribeiro gains new life and open new spaces: Foz, Ermesinde, Matosinhos and Maia. The motto of this bakery is … and tradition is still what it was. Several individuals passed through here and John Malkovich chose it as the setting for one of the scenes from his 2002 film "Em Clandestinidade".
