The Shop

Casa Pacheco has its origins between the 20s and 30s by António Mendes Pacheco, coming from Celorico da Beira, who established his residence in Viana do Castelo.

Shop History

The House remained in the Pacheco family for several years, with Dr. Maria Manuela Pacheco, daughter, continuing to manage it until 1992, with a great love for the art and embroidery of Viana, which symbolizes the strength of Viana to this day. and pride of the women of Minho who, with their hard work, support the livelihood of their families through the dexterity and delicacy of what their hands produce. In 1992, after his death, Casa Sandra was left, in a will, to his collaborator Armando Pimenta, who had worked for the company since 1960, with the certainty that he and his family would continue the work.
Currently, the firm António Pacheco & Filhos Lda., Casa Sandra, is under the guidance of Armando Pimenta and his wife Conceição Pimenta, who from a young age learned to embroider and learn about the embroidery techniques of Viana do Castelo with her mother, one of the official embroiderers of Casa Sandra in the 50s.
