The Shop

Mercadora is one of the oldest grocery stores in Funchal, located next to Lavradores’ Market. It has been known for decades for selling spices including a secret and special blend of condiments from the foundation times.

Shop History

Its furniture, which fills the walls, remains original to that of the beginning of its activity, and the sales are done the same way as it was before. The coffee grinder is one of the oldest elements of the shop, which can be found on the counter as a decorative element.

Products and Services

It has a tavern (bar) on the inside of the grocery store where it sells, in between a variety of drinks, the well-known “poncha”. At the entrance we can find bags with dried products.
