Negrita is located on Central Avenue and is known for its freshly ground coffee aroma, with daily roasting and grinding done on the spot.

Shop History

The aroma of coffee can be sensed even before entering number 177 of Central Avenue. At ‘Negrita’, a house founded in 1948, you can still buy the famous and aromatic Lote de S. Tomé, as in the old days.
The aroma of coffee, spices and teas can also be found. And there is no shortage of peanuts from Israel that José de Araújo, son of the founder, assures us are "the best in the world".
The shop maintains its traditional aspect, exhibiting the ‘old’ mills, the scales, the boxes and jars, the paintings and sculptures of African origin.
Here one feels the true spirit of traditional commerce, with regular customers, some still from the time of its foundation. Each customer is considered a friend.
