The Shop
Arcadia has belonged to the Bastos family since 1933 and has since been an important reference. The establishment opened in Praça da Liberdade and in 1945 in Rua do Almada, where it remains. Known for bonbons, cat tongues and dragees, it keeps tradition in its recipes and manufacturing processes. Located in the heart of the city of Porto, the Arcadia is assumed as a factory of artisanal confectionery. Only selected natural products are used in their recipes.
Shop History
The traditional Arcadia set maintains the original shapes and flavors since the 1933 edition. The care with each bonbon is individual and each one hides inside, part of the Arcadia magic. The method of artisan and centenary production goes from generation to generation.
The secular history of Arcadia is part of the history of Porto and relates to the identity of the country, without losing the ability to innovate and without becoming antiquated. Arcadia continues to bet on the continuous renewal of its knowledge. Annually launches special editions, testing your knowledge and exploring new flavors.
