Shop History

Founded in 1956, the República Rápo-Taxo Association got the “república” status in 1962, a recognition process safeguarded by Law no. 2/82 of 15 January, requiring its certification by the Coimbra University Dean, after consulting the Coimbra Student Union and the Repúblicas Council.

Products and Services

True replacement communities, alternative households from those left in hometown, the Repúblicas (communal houses for students) are more than just student or university residences, representing the traditional academic life of Coimbra, with all that this entails, from the bohemian life to the ideological aspects.
