The Cineclube de Guimarães, founded on May 17, 1958, has since developed a cultural activity that has been publicly recognized, including by the municipality of Vimaranense, which awarded it the Gold Medal of Cultural Merit in 1994. The achievements of this association are not consoned to the projection of films on the big screen (Teatro Jordão, Cinema São Mamede, Auditorium of UM and Centro Cultural Vila Flor).
The initiatives over the years take place in their headquarters – in addition to the parishes of the municipality – through different areas of culture, such as hearing / lecture of jazz (early 60s), exhibition of films, training and practice of photography are open to the community, exhibitions, concerts in the room or on the terrace, presentation of their editions, collaboration at Noc Noc, and with several entities requesting the space, including schools and university.
