The Shop

Beatriz Tasso de Sousa Perry Sampaio began her activity as an embroiderer in 1944. The need to exhibit her creations led her to found her first shop in Porto, in 1960. This establishment has remained in the family since its foundation and it is currently managed by the founder’s daughter and granddaughter. The articles sold are mainly linen towels. The shop is sought after for the quality of its products, crafted and handmade. The designs for the embroidery are exclusive and can be seen on baby layettes, christening towels, tablecloths and monogrammed napkins, among others. The establishment also carries out customised work idealised by clients, using embroiderers who are specialised for this purpose. Complementarily, the shop sells decorative articles.

Shop History

Inside the establishment it is possible to find original pieces of furniture and duly organised and safeguarded documents. The activity of the founder was recognised with an honourable mention by the Porto City Council, in the Agricultural Exhibition of 1956, held in Palácio de Cristal. Its list of clients includes the Countess of Spencer (UK), Teresa Heinz and John Kerry, the Brazilian Ambassador to the Dominican Republic and the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation. The success of the firm is based on the commitment of three different generations resting on traditional knowledge, the quality of its products and personalised service to its customers.
